This show has long been a favorite of mine. My comments on my last pick seemed to cause quite a stir, so this time I will just say this…..It seems that when you narrow down the best shows of any given year, it seems to boil down to about ten or fifteen that are the very very best. I believe this is one of the those shows. Enjoy…

Vol. 9 should be a four-disc set with the following night included!

I surely second that! The Dark Star from the 23rd is one of my favorites of the year, up there with 2/27 for me, and the big jam from the 24th just absolutely begs for release, for it's uniqueness as well as the great playing. There is that pesky flip in between Chincat and The Eleven that has plagued most copies, but from memory there are reel and cassette masters (of both shows, I think), or at least the cut is patchable. Perhaps they could make it a Road Trips or something. I doubt it, but I'd buy it if they did.

Youre probably right Cliff..That Rag>>>Death Dont from the 24th is no joke man. I think it was Muddy that inspired the boys during these two nights. This run just crackles with energy and Pig is unbelievable.

don't forget the he was a friend of mine from the 24th which is one of the best i have ever laid my ears on...

GREAT pick btw - they come storming out of the gate with a badass HTH and follow with stellar versions of Dew, MAMU, and a DS for the books...jerry is very in-your-face and creative
